The largest expanse of sand in Majorca, Alcudia beach runs for several kilometres along the island's northeast coast, and it even boasts the EC Blue Flag award. The great thing is that Alcudia offers much more than just a seaside holiday, although with such warm and inviting waters you can be excused for spending all your time lapping up the sun. The modern town is built around a network of lakes and canals, but there's also a medieval quarter that cries out to be explored and an old quayside with some terrific bars and restaurants. Shopaholics will feel at home around the boutiques and mustn't miss local market day. Night hawks are spoilt for choice for beach bar society and early hours dancing and those with energy to burn will love the windsurfing and waterskiing. It's absolutely brilliant for children - we can fully recommend it as the complete holiday for families. TRANSFER TIME - Airport to Alcudia 1hour 30 minutes |
