Without doubt, Santa Ponsa is at the prettiest end of the south coast, with its tree-lined road providing welcome shade from the hot sun. Set around a large cove the village faces the setting sun - so for the best effect make sure to pick your place for cocktails in good time.

Life here is very social with an ample selection of watering holes and eateries of all descriptions, from the chic to the cheap and cheerful. It's also a very child-friendly place, with gently shelving sands - ideal for buckets and spades - and serious paddling.

You'll find good watersports here, as well as tennis and bicycle hire. For golfers it's a very special place - just up the road are two 18 hole courses, one of which is a championship course designed by Seve Ballesteros for the Balearic Open.
