Praia da Rocha translates as "Beach of the Rocks" and is one of the most photographed beaches in Portugal.
The name derives from the peculiar but typically Algarvian rock formations which protrude from the cliffs and stand off the foreshore.
The beach is one of the best on the Algarve and lies in a broad bay. The resort of Praia da Rocha itself is one of the most popular and lively in the entire Algarve and boasts a very wide selection of bars, restaurants, night clubs and shops v entertainment to suit all tastes and age groups.
