ITINERARY:

Day 1 Sunday: Arrive Johannesburg. On arrival at the OR Tambo Johannesburg Airport, take the complimentary shuttle transfer to your Hotel. Overnight in the Peermont Metcourt Hotel on a B&B Basis.

Day 2 Monday: Johannesburg to Mpumalanga. Today you join your tour and you travel via Witbank, Belfast and Lydenburg over the Long Tom Pass to the small village of Pilgrim’s Rest, where the richest alluvial gold deposits in South Africa were discovered. Overnight at the Hannah Lodge on a Dinner & B&B Basis

Day 3 Tuesday: Mpumalanga. Travel along the scenic Panorama Route visiting Blyde River Canyon (one of the natural wonders of Africa), God’s Window and the Bourke’s Luck Potholes before arriving at the Casa Do Sol Hotel & Resort on the outskirts of Hazyview. Dinner & B&B.

Day 4 Wednesday: Kruger Park. Spend the day in the Kruger National Park, which covers an area of about 21 500km² and offers many opportunities to see the 'Big Five', excellent birding and endemic plants. These Game Drives are optional (for own account) and you may spend a full day game driving in an open safari vehicle with a local guide. Overnight at the Casa do Sol Hotel on a B&B & Dinner Basis.

Day 5 Thursday: Mpumalanga to Zululand via Swaziland. After breakfast depart for Zululand via Swaziland, visiting the Ngwenya Glass factory along the way. Overnight at the Protea Hotel Hluhluwe on a B&B Basis.

Day 6 Friday: Zululand to Durban. Enjoy breakfast at your Hotel or go on an optional (for own account) boat cruise in the Greater St Lucia Wetlands Park or optional (for own account) open safari vehicle game drive in the Hluhluwe National Park. Once you arrive in Durban, you enjoy a city orientation tour before staying at the Belmoral Hotel on a B&B Basis.

Day 7 Saturday: Durban to Drakensberg. Head into the Great Drakensberg Mountains. This route is spectacular and passes through countless areas full of magical beauty. Visit the Himeville Museum en route to the Drakensberg Gardens Resort, staying on a B&B Basis.

Day 8 Sunday: Drakensberg. Full day at leisure to enjoy the wonderful views of the magnificent southern Drakensberg Mountains. Optional (for own account) 4x4 adventure tour up Sani Pass and into Lesotho is available (passport required). Overnight at the Drakensberg Gardens Resort on a B&B Basis.

Day 9 Monday: Drakensberg to the Wild Coast. An early departure leaves you with a view of the beautiful Sani Pass region. Make your way to the former Transkei region on the spectacular Wild Coast. Overnight in the Mbotyi River Lodge on a B&B Basis.

Day 10 Tuesday: Wild Coast to Port Elizabeth. After breakfast head to the Eastern Cape, passing through Umtata and visit the Mandela Museum on your way to East London. After lunch (for own account) stop in Grahamstown, known for its elegant 19th century architecture. Arrive at the Kelway Hotel in Port Elizabeth late in the afternoon, staying on a B&B Basis.

Day 11 Wednesday: Port Elizabeth to Plettenberg Bay. After breakfast travel towards the Garden Route, stopping at Storms River where photographic opportunities abound. Enjoy lunch at a wine estate (for own account), before overnighting at the Dunes Resort on a B&B Basis.

Day 12 Thursday: Garden Route. Full day at leisure.Optional (for own account) full day tour to the Knysna Waterfront where you will head towards the Western Head and enter the Featherbed Nature Reserve. Lunch (included). Day 13 Friday: Plettenberg Bay to Oudtshoorn. Travel to Oudtshoorn via George and the Outeniqua Pass, visiting an Ostrich Farm, the Cango Caves and the Cango Wildlife Ranch en-route. Overnight at the Protea Hotel Riempie Estate on a B&B Basis.

Day 14 Saturday: Oudtshoorn to Cape Town. Depart Oudtshoorn for Cape Town travelling via Route 62, passing through Montagu, Robertson and Worcester. Arrive in Cape Town late afternoon and overnight in the Protea Hotel Fire & Ice on a B&B Basis.

Day 15 Sunday: Cape Town. Full day at leisure in the “Mother City”.
