the rooms are gorgeous, very big and absolutely spotless. (definately worth paying abit extra for a sea view) remember to ask for a double bed if you need one, as we were given two singles pressed together.
The staff are friendly and are willing to help with anything you need.
The breakfast was very varied and would suit anyone. the bar by the pool was quite pricy as was 'five' the hotels restuarant... just skip these and eat at the gorgeous pastry shop right next door or the restaurants 2 mins walk away.
i never saw the pool full and there was always plenty of sun loungers any time of the day.
the centre of Funchal is 10mins bus ride away however if you go to 'Joes' on the left from the hotel you can get a bus card that costs 30cents per trip. its extremely easy to catch the bus, it runs every 10mins or so.
I would definitely stay at hotel Raga again as the location and rooms were perfect.
