The lobby is medium sized decorated in light colours with sitting areas.

Situated on the waterfront the hotel is 200 metres from the shopping centre and restaurants. The Polar Museum is located 500 metres away from the hotel. Other attractions in Tromso are the Arctic Cathedral 3 kilometers away and the Cable Car and Tromso Museum which are both situated 5 kilometres away.

Due to it's location the hotel offers beautiful views of the scenic harbour and Tromso Sound, Tromso itself is one of the most northerly destinations in Norway. During winter time the city experiences 2 months of night time an experience in its own right.

The rooms are medium size and well appointed, decorated in light colours with wooden flooring and en suite bathrooms. All have modern amenities including cable/satellite TV, Hair dryers and refrigerators.

The exterior of the hotel is of a modern appearance with five floors detached from other buildings.

The main restaurant at the hotel is the Astor restaurant which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner from 0700hrs through to 2300hrs.

Search for the northern lights on a local ferry which traffics the outer villages of Tromso city. Your guide will pick you up at your hotel and take you to the ferry all islanders use as daily transport. The ferry departs Bellvik ferry quay in the afternoon. The first port of call is the fishing village Vengsoy. The village still has a lively, yet not very large, fishing industry. Around 100 people live at the island and a number of city people have cabins here. The next port of call, if the ferry is summoned, is the village Laukvik. Only one person lives here at the moment. The next port of call is Musvar, a small archipelago of islands where the biggest island houses a family of soon to be five and one single mann. This island is a remainder of the old culture which is now vanishing, a culture where people feed themselves through fishing and farming. On this small island is a farm of cows and goats. The last port of call before we visit Vengsoy again is called Sandoy. A popular spot for those who want to get as far out of the city as possible in the weekends.

Theatre of food and snowshoeing searching for the northern lights: We would like to present an addition to fine views and tired legs to our guests. Join us for a meal prepared in the Lavvo in front of you while you look for the Northern lights. We promise you fresh and colourful dishes with smells to whet your appetite. After dinner your guide will take you snowshoeing to a nearby peak, away from all kinds of light pollution to challenge the lights. Wave with a white handkerchief to see if the lights show themselves, if they do they will come down to you when you wave something white.

Kicksleding and search for the Aurora dancing

Kicksleding and search for the Aurora dancing: We are delighted to invite you to participate on this fun activity. You are picked up at your hotel and brought into Tromsdalen for kick-sledgeing. Enjoy learning the particular technique to handle the kick-sledge on hard tracks into the valley. Our junior guides will find a suitable place to stop for a break. They will light a bon-fire and help you grill hot dogs. This is challenging, fun and playing in the snow.

Arctic Cruise to the village Skjervoy return on the coastal steamer

We recommend this local coach tour from Tromso city along and across fjords to Skjervoy. You drive through the pass between the great peaks of the Lyngen Alps – raging from 2000m above sea level straight into the sea. At Skjervoy the Coastal Steamer ship is waiting for you to embark. The journey goes among islands and islets in the outskirts of Tromso. From the ship it is possible to look for the northern lights. On request you can book dinner in the restaurant.
