In this itinerary we combine beach & bush into an East Africa extravaganza! Put on your shorts or bikini before swapping these for your safari khakis. The coastline of Mombasa is a tropical paradise with palm fringed white sandy beaches, where the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean meet beautiful coral reefs. The twin National Parks of Tsavo East and West form one of Africa’s largest wilderness reserves. On safari here you can see large herds of Elephant, their hides often a luminous red with dust, as well as Lion, Buffalo, Eland, Giraffe Impala, Kudu and possibly Rhino. Mombasa Beach & Tsavo Safari Day 1-3: Mombasa South Beach. On arrival at the Mombasa Airport you will be met by your representative and transferred to your beach hotel. Spend 3 Nights at the Baobab Beach Resort on a Fully Inclusive Basis. Located on the world famous Diani Beach south of Mombasa, the Baobab Resort is set in 80 acres of exquisite gardens, stretching down to one of the most spectacular beaches in East Africa. What makes this resort so unique is that it consists of three properties - the Baobab, Kole Kole and Maridadi and you can use the facilities of all three!!!
The resort offers daily activities such as water aerobics, volleyball, archery, beach football and tennis. In the evenings entertainment is provided by local artists and musical bands.
Days 4 & 5: Tsavo West Safari. This morning you are met by your driver/guide and after a short pre-safari briefing you depart for Tsavo West game driving en-route. Spend 2 Nights at the Voyager Ziwani Lodge on a Full Board Basis.
Spend two days on game drives including visits to Mzima Springs, Chaimu & Shetani lava sites, the rhino sanctuary and roaring rocks. As Ziwani is set on a private sanctuary, Night drives and morning walks are offered (on own account).
Day 6: Tsavo East Safari. Today you head for Tsavo East, game-driving en-route. Your accommodation, the Ashnil Aruba Lodge is set amongst landscaped gardens, offers a swimming pool, a fine restaurant, a bar, a cultural center, a souvenir shop and of course, wonderful game viewing platforms over the Aruba dam.
Tsavo East National Park is patrolled by some of the country’s largest elephant herds. These pachyderms are often referred to as ‘red elephants’ owing to their tendency to wallow in the red soil and mud predominant in the park.
Day 7-10: Mombasa North Coast. Depart Tsavo after breakfast. Sadly this is your last game drive before enjoying the white sands of Shanzu Beach for 4 Nights in the Serena Beach Resort on a Half Board Basis.
Fringed by white beaches, and shaded by coconut palms, the silver ribbon of the Swahili coastline offers the ultimate tropical paradise. Bright white against the blue sky, set in extensive tropical gardens, the architecture of the Serena Beach Hotel and Spa replicates the winding lanes and colourful market places of a traditional 13th century Swahili town. At its heart lies the coral-built ‘Fortress of Tranquillity' of the exquisite ‘Maisha' Mind, Body and Spirit Spa.. The Sopa Lodge is getting great reviews - check it out!
Day 11: Depart. Private transfer from the beach resort to the Mombasa Airport in time for the return flight.

Client Comments: Safari was amazing, and both hotels were better than I had expected for being in the middle of a safari park. The Ashnil had lovely staff but I would highly recommend the Kilaguni Hotel as the water hole beside the restaurant attracted so many animals at night and you could watch them while eating your dinner. Our driver Juma was lovely and we felt very safe with him so please pass on our compliments to Andre and Victor. We saw every animal except a leopard and rhino. Loads of elephants, Giraffe, zebra and gazelle. Claire - Sep 2011
