The main airport in Los Angeles is commonly referred to as 'LAX', located about 24 kilometres from the city center this airport is one of the oldest and biggest of Californian airports. Public and private transport from the airport is good. You can catch a free shuttle bus the Metro Rail green line stop which can take you into the city center in about 25 minutes. Supper shuttle offers you door to door transport service although it does make sense to make reservations in advance.
The US Dollar is the unit of currency and it is recommended you change currency locally rather than getting ripped off here at the airport bank where rates are not as good as commercial ones.
