Namibia Holidays

The second least densely-populated country on Earth, Namibia is about it good as it gets for experiencing wild Africa at its purest. Head outside of the modern capital of Windhoek and you'll find no shortage of untouched wilderness and vast open plains.

Things to Do

  • A nice way to introduce yourself to the city, the National Museum of Namibia in Windhoek covers the nation’s fascinating history and offers gorgeous views over the capital city.
  • Famous for having some of the world’s largest sand dunes, Sossusvlei in Namib-Naukluft Park is particularly special when experienced from the air in a hot air balloon.
  • One of Africa’s largest concentrations of stone carvings, Twyfelfontein tells the story of the mysterious ancient people that once populated the desert.
  • Namibia has more free-roaming cheetahs than anywhere else in the world, and the Cheetah Conservation Fund in Otjiwarongo lets you see them up close.

Best Time to Visit

Jun-Oct: Although this is winter in Namibia, daytime temperatures should sit pleasantly between 20-30°C for this time of year. With little chance of rain and mostly clear blue skies, it’s usually a great time of year to explore Namibia’s great outdoors.

Our Opinion

“I have travelled to Namibia a few times and and it will always be a place I hold dear. It’s packed full of wildlife and it never ceases to amaze me how much of it is completely untouched.”
