Hoi An Holidays
Boasting pretty buildings, crumbling ruins, scenic waterways and a laidback atmosphere, Hoi An is easily one of Vietnam’s most charming cities.
Things to do in Hoi An
- Take a stroll around Hoi An’s Ancient Town. Lined with colonial buildings, atmospheric temples and charming markets, Hoi An’s ancient Town is the perfect starting point for exploring the city.
- Take a Vietnamese cooking class. Learn to cook pho like a local at Thuan Tinh Island cookery course.
- Wind down at Dive Bar. Great music, a chilled atmosphere and delicious cocktails, Dive Bar is one of our favourite Hoi An haunts.
- Hoi An is famous for its cheap tailors; however it’s also brimming with colourful markets and shops selling all kinds of crafts – a shopaholics dream.
Best Time to Visit
Jan-Aug: In terms of weather this would be the best time, however it can get quite hot between June and August. Hoi An summers are usually hot and dry with temperatures reaching into the 30s. Winters are often rainy, with most of the showers occurring in October and November.
Hoi An is that little bit more special during the Lantern Festival. Each month, the city becomes illuminated by hundreds of colourful lanterns in a beautiful display. The festival’s dates depend on the lunar calendar, varying each month, so it’s best to check the dates before booking your Hoi An holidays.
Why We Love It"Hoi An is probably my favourite destination in Vietnam. It's a UNESCO site so you really feel like you're stepping back in time. The tailors are amazing, they will make you anything you want, so bring an empty suitcase and a credit card!"
