St. John's

St. John's Holidays

North America's oldest city, St John's is an exciting and colourful coastal town on the edge of the Atlantic. With a strong Irish heritage, some of the local accents sound as if they are from our own emerald isle!

Things to Do in St John's

  • Signal Hill National Historic Site is one of the most famous landmarks in Newfoundland. This historic site celebrates the rich communications and military history of Signal Hill and sits amidst a spectacular view of St. John’s and the sea. Signal Hill was the reception point of the first transatlantic wireless signal by Guglielmo Marconi in 1901, as well as the site of harbour defences for St. John’s from the 18th century to the Second World War.
  • The Quidi Vidi Brewery crafts 8 brands of award-winning beer, including one brewed exclusively from iceberg water! Book a tour if you like the sound of sampling a few glasses of beer whilst learning about its fascinating history.
  • St. John’s is known for its vibrant colourful row houses which help shape the city’s character. Walk pretty much anywhere in the downtown area and you will experience the colourful houses – starting at the top of a hill, you will see Jellybean Row decorated with a colourful variety of houses all the way down to the sea.
