Getting To Know Cuba Tour

Getting To Know Cuba Tour
Birthplace of the cha-cha-cha and the finest cigars on earth, this tour will take you nearly 1,000km across the largest island in the Caribbean. With an unmistakeably old-school charm, you can choose to delve into the history of this proud nation, or simply sample its wide variety of bars and beaches.

Starting off in the capital of Havana, experience the magic and learn the history of this unique city to get a taste of the local way of life. Heading west to the rural Viñales Valley before going east towards Santiago de Cuba and Baracoa, you’ll soon learn why it’s one of the most popular islands in the Caribbean.

Things to Do

  • With a history stretching back to early colonial times, El Morro Castle in Havana offers some of the best views of the city, as well as insight into its fascinating past.
  • Also in Havana, Museo del Ron (Rum Museum) will show you every step in the process of making the famous drink, as well as provide the all-important sample or two!
  • Surrounded by the gorgeous Viñales Valley, El Paraíso farm is a wonderful place to gain an understanding of what rural Cuban life is like outside the city.
  • On your free time in Trinidad, Restaurante San Jose would make for an excellent evening meal, serving up delicious traditional food with a fine choice of cocktails.
  • The Nuestra Señora de la Concepción church is home to the original wooden cross planted by Christopher Columbus when he first set foot in the New World.

Best Time to Go

Nov-Apr: The long dry season in Cuba is usually the most pleasant time of year to visit in terms of weather, with average daytime temperatures usually close to 30°C. It’s also the most popular time of year to visit so booking early is essential.
