Laos - Sustainable Laos Private Tour

Laos - Sustainable Laos Private Tour
We think of Laos as Asia's best-kept secret, and it's a great place to experience without having to work through massive crowds. Starting off in the capital city of Vientiane, this privately-guided tour will let you experience the authentic traditions of this wonderful landlocked country.
You'll take part in ecotourism treks guided by local villagers, trips to organic farms, visit the night market in Luang Prabang and even a full-day tour on an eco-friendly electrical bicycle. This rewarding adventure is rounded off by a charitable visit to a village school with ‘Bucket of Books’, who work to improve the lives of local children.

Things to Do

  • Luang Prabang Night Market is a great place to check out some of the local crafts, and try some traditional food. Keep an eye out for BBQ chicken with sticky rice, delicious is an understatement.
  • Near Vientiane is Wat Sisaket, a wonderful example of a Buddhist temple. Lined with thousands of miniature Buddhas, every morning the local people pray at the temple and offer food to the temple's monks.
  • It isn't all temples and markets, Nam Ngum Lake is a glimpse into the incredibly beautiful scenery of Laos. it will make for some postcard-worthy photos too, as the horizon is dotted with gorgeous mist-coated mountains.

Best Time to Visit

Oct-Dec: Rain season runs from May to September, so once the drier weather sets in around October, the landscape will have a fresh green look to it. It does get busy during November, so we'd recommend travelling as early as possible. Temperatures should be warm, but not uncomfortable.

 Our Opinion

Jennifer - "Laos is not yet as touristy as other Asian countries, so you really get a feel for the country when traveling and meeting locals, who are some of the friendliest and welcoming I have ever come across. Every smile that greets you is genuine with an honest interest in where you come from and what it is like back home."
