Mount Kenya & Maasai Mara Safari

Mount Kenya & Maasai Mara Safari
From the magnificent glaciers of Mt Kenya, Africa’s second highest mountain, to the vast open plains of the Masai Mara National Park, Kenya is a place of natural splendour.
Home to the famous Maasai tribe, and the incredible wildebeest migration from the Serengeti, its wildlife is as much a part of Kenyan history as its people. A pioneer in the protection of animals after poaching destroyed much of Africa’s wildlife, see the rewards for decades of conservation on this Kenya safari.
Enjoy many nights in varied accommodation. The luxurious Nairobi Safari Park Hotel, boasts a stunning pool and casino. On the contrary, the unique Treetops Hotel in Aberdare has an ancient tree growing through the hotel and a watering hole right in front of it, making it the perfect place for game viewing, this Kenya safari has something for everyone.

Kenya Safari Attractions

  • The vast plains of the Maasai Mara National Park are world famous. Every year, more than one million wildebeest move through the park, it is worth travelling simply to see this phenomenal event.
  • Nairobi National Park is one of Kenya’s smallest, but it is home to the highest density of endangered black rhino in the world. Its size is part of its charm, as the park’s rangers can track wildlife much easier than in the larger parks.
  • While the area is understandably known for being home to Africa’s second highest mountain, Mt Kenya National Park is an incredible place to explore. Home to more than 130 species of bird, as well as elephant, water buck and leopard.
  • Staying in the unforgettable Treetops lodge in Aberdare. Built in the 1930s, the lodge underwent massive renovations in 2012 and combines modern luxuries with an organic character.

Best time to visit

June – October: This is Kenya’s dry season. Average temperatures are roughly 23-28 degrees. Temperatures can be milder in the mornings so it is advised to pack accordingly for morning game drives. During this season the skies are clear and days are sunny. This is a great time to visit as the great wildebeest migration occurs during July - October. Animals can be easier to spot at this time of year as they are usually seen gathered around watering holes.

Our thoughts

Andre - "This Kenya safari combines the lesser known Mount Kenya National Park, which offers spectacular bird watching and stunning mountain views, with the flamingos of Lake Nakuru and the, the world-famous Maasai Mara. I personally can’t get enough of Kenya’s wildlife, culture and landscapes."
