Tanzania Selous Fly-in Safari & Zanzibar

Tanzania Selous Fly-in Safari & Zanzibar
Unparalleled wildlife, dramatic landscapes and pristine palm fringed beaches, these are just some of the highlights on this Tanzania Selous Safari and Zanzibar Beach holiday.

Selous Game Reserve is the biggest and least exploited reserve in Africa. Boasting large numbers of elephants, rare black rhinos, cheetahs, crocodiles and more, animals are certainly not hard to come by. Selous Serena Camp lies under shady forests on the banks of the Simbazi River in the north of the Selous Game Reserve

After all the excitement of Tanzania's animal kingdom, Zanzibar is the perfect place to unwind and recharge your batteries. Located on the east coast, Anna of Zanzibar offers you 'barefoot luxury' - a combination of individual service, a relaxed atmosphere and all amenities of a five star boutique hotel. Situated between Paje and Raz Michamvi, Anna of Zanzibar is only an hour's drive from Stone Town, a UNSECO World Heritage Site, with its fascinating fusion of Arabic, Asian, Portuguese and African culture.

Tanzania Safari Attractions:

  • Safaris in the Selous Game Reserve generally include shared activities - game drives, escorted bush walks and boating excursions on the rivers or lakes. Look out for Hippos, crocodiles and hundreds of bird species.
  • Admire the stunning scenery on afternoon game drives as the sun sets against the dramatic landscape. This is the perfect Tanzania safari photo opportunity.
  • Hire a traditional dhow and sail out to one of Zanzibar's reefs, admire the vibrant marine life or enjoy some snorkelling.
  • Fumba is a fishing village in the southwest corner of Zanzibar, this village is home to Menai Bay which is frequented by humpback and bottlenose dolphins.

Best time to visit:

June – October:  This is, in our opinion, the best time of year for a Tanzania safari. With the Selous and Southern Parks relatively unknown, you can enjoy a more intimate safari experience. Also, diving conditions in the North of Zanzibar are at their best during these months.
