Costa Rica Honeymoons

Costa Rica Honeymoon

Costa Rica is home to pristine beaches, lush rain forests, live volcanoes and endless attractions. This is the only country in the western hemisphere that does not have a military, it is a very peaceful nation, with warm and friendly locals.

Why Costa Rica Honeymoons?

Adventure activities in Costa Rica are never far from your doorstep. Go zip lining, witness incredible wildlife or simply try some of the world's best coffee. A Costa Rica honeymoon is full of adventure, culture and breath taking landscapes.

Things For Couples To Do

  • Get your adrenaline pumping and go white water rafting together in Turrialba. Costa Rica's warm waters, tropical scenery and mountainous terrain make it the perfect location for this sport.
  • A tour of the famous Arenal volcano is a must while on a Costa Rica honeymoon. Go for a hike along its foot and take in the stunning scenery. There are 5 other active volcanoes in Costa Rica and over 60 dormant/extinct ones.
  • Sloths are very common to the rainforests of Costa Rica. There is even a Sloth Sanctuary for abandoned or injured sloths. These unique creatures can sleep for up to 18 hours a day.
  • The incredibly blue Río Celeste river in the Tenorio Volcano National Park is a thing of beauty. It gets its gorgeous colour from the chemical mixture of sulphur and carbonate.

Best Time To Visit

December – April: This is the main dry season, and would be a great time for a Costa Rica honeymoon. Many vibrant festivals take place during these months, so you can expect a lively atmosphere. As this is the most popular season, rates may be higher and resorts slightly busier.

Temperatures tend to stay roughly the same throughout the year in Costa Rica, the average temperature is 24 degrees. However, there is a dry and rainy season.

The rainy season is also known as the 'green season' because of the beautiful foliage it brings. Rates are lower as this isn’t a popular tourist season. The amount of rainfall varies throughout the country. Some showers may last for only a few hours and others days. If you plan to visit during this season pack accordingly.

Why We Love Costa Rica Honeymoons

“I have been to Costa Rica myself and I would love to go back. Few places on the planet offer you the chance to experience so much in one destination: in an area smaller than Ireland you can get up close and personal with incredible wildlife, zip line through the virgin rainforest, surf Pacific waves and enjoy amazing hotels. Costa Rica has it all.”
