Kenya Safari Attractions
- The great wildebeest migration in the Maasai Mara is considered one of the new seven wonders of the world. There is no movement of animals as immense as this. Nearly 2 million wildebeest and zebra migrate from the Serengeti National Park to the Maasai Mara!
- Meet members of the proud Maasai tribe, a symbol of Kenyan culture. Despite outside influences and education, they have stuck to their traditional way of life.
- Experience a hot air balloon ride over the Masai Mara and take in the breath-taking scenery. This is the perfect opportunity to spot amazing wildlife running amongst the plains below you. Most hot air balloon rides even feature a champagne breakfast once you land.
- The Rift Valley is the ideal place to get that perfect Kenya safari picture of the native, vibrant flamingo colonies. The Rift Valley is also home to many other animals including cheetahs, giraffes, zebra and mountain gorillas. This region is one of the best places in Africa for birdwatching.
Best time to visit
Kenya's proximity to the equator means it doesn't experience a typical winter. However, there are wet and dry seasons.
The dry season occurs between June - October. Average temperatures are roughly 23-28 degrees. Temperatures can be milder in the mornings so it is advised to pack accordingly for morning game drives. During this season the skies are clear and days are sunny. This is a great time to visit as the great wildebeest migration occurs during July - October. Animals can be easier to spot at this time of year as they are usually seen gathered around watering holes.
